Pfäffikon / Freienbach, 5 July 2021: For the second time in the current year, the Swiss satellite TV platform Kabelio is further expanding its range of programmes.

From now on, the regional channels Tele Bärn, TV Südostschweiz, Tele M1, Tele Basel, Tele 1 and TVO as well as the international channels BBC four with its culture and science programme, the children's channel CBeeBies as well as the entertainment channels Channel 4, Channel 5 and FreeSports are available to all Kabelio customers via satellite at no extra cost.

The expansion of the programme offer is made possible by an additional transponder at HOTBIRD 13° East. The additional transmission capacity will also benefit the existing HD channels. Through a new distribution of the channels on the two transponders, the picture quality of the programmes could be further optimised.

With now about 50 channels, including all SRG channels, the most popular German-language channels such as 3+, TV24, ProSieben, RTL, ORF1 and 2, ARD, ZDF, the regional Swiss channels such as TeleZüri, TV Südostschweiz, Tele Bärn as well as many, exciting international channels, Kabelio via satellite offers a variety of programmes that was previously only available on cable TV.

Damir Krilcic, CEO Kabelio: "Kabelio is one of the fastest growing satellite services in Europe in terms of new channels launched. As a thank you to our customers, we are very pleased that we can again significantly increase our regional and international programme diversity and, last but not least, our transmission quality in line with the high demand and thanks to additional transmission capacities."
